The other big project underway is Aurora Street. The storm sewer phase of the project is at 60% completion with the remainder of the work to be completed within three weeks. The actual street construction should begin shortly after that. The project is utilizing both Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds for the construction of the storm sewer and FAU (Federal Aid Urban) funding to construct the roadway. Stimulus funds that remained from the Deerfield Road overlay last fall will also be applied to this project. The road construction will consist of new curb and gutter, removal of the existing A-3 pavement and the installation of concrete pavement. The project will begin at Indiana Avenue and end at John Street. The project will require the complete closure of Aurora Street until the target completion of mid-November 2010. Through traffic will be diverted from the north to Main Street to access Indiana Avenue and the High School. No through traffic will be allowed on Aurora Street during construction.
